About Us

Director, Helen Bergen
Winnipeg's Heartland Singers is an auditioned chamber choir which began in 2008 under the artistic direction of Helen Bergen. Our name not only represents our location in the heart of Canada but also speaks to our commitment to singing and to caring for our community.

Heartland Singers present two benefit concerts each year; during the Christmas season and in the spring, and proceeds from each concert are given to charity.

We have contributed to eleven charities since our inception.

Our choral ensemble is made up of approximately 25 dedicated members and our repertoire encompasses both sacred and secular works from all eras and in various languages. We strive to produce beautiful music that will touch the hearts and imaginations of our audiences. At every concert we are joined by talented instrumentalists who add to the spirit and context of the songs we sing.

Heartland Singers has also enjoyed participating in several collaborative musical enterprises in support of organizations and fund raisers such as Winnipeg Harvest, St Benedicts Retreat Centre,
Dare to Dream, and Project Peacemeakers.

We hope to see you at our next concert!
